Branding Solaires

Solaires is a webcomic series published by Azur on Webtoon. Renowned for its vibrant and joyful visual universe, this comic narrates the story of Isis, an introverted girl navigating the challenges of starting high school and learning to trust her peers. At its heart, Solaires explores themes of friendship, sorority, and finding happiness in the small joys of everyday life.

My role in this project was to design a visual identity that seamlessly blends the academic and reflective nature of teenage life with the warmth and exuberance of authentic friendships. Through thoughtful design, I aimed to amplify the comic's unique charm and emotional depth.

The logo reflects the school-life theme of the webcomic through the use of a serif font, paired with a subtle ink texture to evoke a sense of creativity and tradition.

The ‘O’ in Solaires is shaped to resemble the main character’s iconic hair clip, serving as a personal and memorable touch that ties directly to the story. Additionally, the connection between the ‘e’ and ‘s’ symbolizes the themes of plurality, inclusivity, and the importance of friendships—core elements of the webcomic's narrative.
