My creative process
I like to start a new project by sketching everything that comes to mind in my design sketchbook. I aim to fill at least a full page with various ideas and doodles.
From these, I select the ones with the most potential, originality, or those that best meet the requirements, and then I create 3 to 5 intermediate versions using Illustrator or InDesign. This helps me choose the best concept to finalize.
If necessary, I can always return to the sketching phase to generate new ideas or modify the initial ones. I begin by working in black and white, and then gradually incorporate colors into the project.
Finally, I design a clear and visually appealing presentation of the project to ensure it is easily understandable and memorable.
My history in more details
Passionate about art, languages, and history since childhood, I naturally pursued studies in Applied Arts after high school. I quickly became fascinated by creating designs, layouts, and illustrations, which led me to enroll in a two-year graphic design program (with a focus on print) in Angoulême.
I had the wonderful opportunity to intern at Sopexa Deutschland in Düsseldorf for six weeks. This invaluable first experience in the graphic design field allowed me to create visuals for social media, design layouts for invitations and letters while respecting each client's visual identity, and improve my photo editing skills. Additionally, I collaborated closely with the marketing team, discussing and addressing various challenges.
After this, I wanted to improve my skills in typography and video editing. I was also determined to learn coding, web design, and motion design. I naturally applied to l'École Supérieure d'Art et de Design des Pyrénées, the Pau Fine Arts School, in the graphic design and multimedia section. I had the opportunity to secure an internship as a graphic designer at La Suite Agency, an illustration agency. There, I updated the website and created visuals to promote the new projects of the illustrators we collaborated with. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2021 and immediately continued to pursue a master's degree in the same section, graduating in 2023.
During my master's degree, I aimed to study a variety of subjects, ultimately exploring the concept of appropriation in the activist graphic design of the French fourth-wave feminist movement for my thesis. I really appreciate the idea of being versatile, possessing skills in various aspects of graphic design. This mindset drives me to alternate between layout design, illustration, typography, web design, photography, video editing, and motion design.
Participating in the Erasmus program was a dream come true for me, as it combined my love for travel and international experiences. In February 2022, I embarked on an exciting journey to Dortmund, Germany, where I spent a semester in the Master's degree program in Editorial Design at Fachhochschule Dortmund. This incredible experience not only honed my English skills but also equipped me with the ability to handle stressful situations in a completely new environment with a different language. The Erasmus program truly broadened my horizons, offering both personal and professional growth while immersing me in a vibrant and diverse cultural setting.
I am so excited and grateful to have the opportunity to be relocating to Canada thanks to my Working Holiday Visa. As I prepare for this new chapter, I am actively seeking a full-time position in graphic design within Toronto. I am eager to bring my skills and creativity to a dynamic team in this city for the next two years.
